May Roundup

It’s amazing how you can have a plan in your head of how you want your month to go and this 30 lb little tyrant can take over every aspect of your life including your thoughts, emotions and anxiety.  My three year old is giving a run for our money in parenting.  He’s been a little demon at school.  Kicking, biting, hitting, spitting his classmates and even teachers.  We have tried everything but nothing seems to be working.  We have involved the county’s early intervention team but now its a waiting game for an appointment.  So to say my son’s behavioral problems have thrown me for a loop would be an understatement.  Its been a challenging month and normally I would be pretty embarrassed by the results below but its been a fucking hard month and there is no shame in my game.

  1. Run the Naked Bavarian 40 mile race on March 4, 2017  –  Done.  Read race recap here if you missed it.
  2. Raise $5,000 for Covenant House Pennsylvania – Done March 3, 2017
  3. Run the Dirty German 50 mile race on May 13, 2017* – my last blog post was right before this race.  There was a Nor’easter in Philly that day.  I completed the 25K and I am going to call this one done with an asterisk because that was the hardest 15.5 miles of my life and I will one day write up a race report about it.
  4. Lose the baby weight (starting weight 140) – Scale hasnt moved since January but the reality is other than running a ton earlier in the year I haven’t really tried.  So I am on day three of using myfitnesspal and I already feel better.  Going to put my head down and focus more on what I am putting in my body.  Because lets be honest, you can’t outrun a bad diet.
  5. Rock Climb More – Climbed once at the PRG with my hubby so that counts right?!?
  6. Travel More – We canceled our trip to Niagara Falls, it was supposed to rain all weekend but it ended up being fine.  Normally I would have been annoyed but we had a great weekend at home and got to get some stuff done around the house.  Plus we have Ft. Myers beach coming up!!! without the kids – what?!? Yes this is happening and I am very excited for it!!!
  7. Blog More – I sucked this month.  Working on it for next month.  Its been a hard month.
  8. One small house project a month – We finished our kitchen ceiling and no I didn’t take pictures because that bitch got done one day before having 40 people over for my sons joint birthday party so much for that blog post!
  9. Declutter –   I am steadily getting rid of stuff about 1 donation pickup every other week but I need to step up my game.  Too much stuff in the house still.
  10. Spend less – We spent more than I care to admit on food for my kids birthdays but I love a good party and while it was mayhem, we had a great time.  So no qualms about that.

April Roundup

I have been in a bit of a funk for the past couple of weeks.   I am a bit depressed and just out of sorts.  I have too many things I would like to be doing but not enough hours in the day.  I am not running as much as I would like.  I am definitely not sleeping enough.  I need to snap out of it but I just can’t seem to get back on track.  Here is my roundup for the month.

  1. Run the Naked Bavarian 40 mile race on March 4, 2017  –  Done.  Read race recap here if you missed it.
  2. Raise $5,000 for Covenant House Pennsylvania – Done March 3, 2017
  3. Run the Dirty German 50 mile race on May 13, 2017 – I ran the Naked Prussian on April 1st but I am NOT prepared for 50 miles.  I have dropped down to 50K (31 miles) am I mad about it? Not really.  The 40 miler was always my big goal and my heart just isn’t in this one.  #sorrynotsorry
  4. Lose the baby weight (starting weight 140) – The scale is no longer my friend.  I am not sure that bitch was ever really a friend.  I am at the same weight I was at the end of January and I know what I need to do, I am just not sure if I have the will to do it.  Thinking about doing the TLS 21 day challenge.  Anyone out there done it before?
  5. Rock climb More – Nope not in April but it will happen in May when we are in Niagara Falls for more climbing.
  6. Travel More – Next up is Niagara Falls for Memorial day weekend.  My hubby and I will also be Ft. Meyers Beach for a quick weekend trip without the kids – what?!? Yes this is happening and I am very excited for it!!!
  7. Blog More – I am happy with the blogging I got done in April and while I would like more, I don’t want to sacrifice the quality for quantity so slow and steady it is.
  8. One small house project a month – My husband and I were able to get the ball rolling on a couple of things but nothing officially got done.  It will.  You know what did get done?!? POTTY TRAINING.  Boom.
  9. Declutter –   I got rid of quite a few things My coworker is having a baby so I gave her a bunch of miscellaneous things.  I sold a bunch of stuff on Facebook Marketplace and donated a bunch more.  This is probably my most completed goal of the month.
  10. Spend less – This goal is hard to measure.  We still spent a bunch of money but it went to HSA account (which is not really spending) and car maintenance.  But as far as buying miscellaneous crap I think we did great.  It helps that I haven’t been able to log into my Amazon regardless of calling them 3 times and emailing them twice.  #worstcustomerserviceever

Overall it wasn’t a bad month.  I just wanted more.  Isn’t that always the case? May is usually a good month for me, both boys will be celebrating their birthdays and the best part of these goals is I get to start all over again each month.  Happy May!

February 2017 – Monthly Roundup

Another month down here’s how I did on the shortest month of the year:

  1. Run the Naked Bavarian 40 mile race on March 4, 2017  – 4 days away! I am SUPER nervous.  Just hoping the weather stays the same and the trails aren’t too muddy.
  2. Raise $5,000 for Covenant House Pennsylvania – I am 76% there so almost at $4,000, if you are interested in donating here is the link.
  3. Run the Dirty German 50 mile race on May 13, 2017 –  Training to continue after this weekend.
  4. Lose the baby weight (starting weight 140) – So my official weigh in is: 136.6 lbs!!  16.6 lbs to go. – This was my update last month and the scale hasn’t changed at all.  BUT my clothes are definitely fitting better which I will take!
  5. Rock climb More – yup didn’t happen again, it will definitely happen in March!
  6. Travel More – I booked our trip to Niagara Falls for May! and we will be in France in less than 2 weeks!
  7. Blog More – I only posted 6 times but February is a short month so its hard to fit in.
  8. One small house project a month – Nope this one didn’t happen either.  Going to have to double up in March/April – lets face it March is about my birthday and FRANCE
  9. Declutter –   I sold a bassinet for $20 and a bunch of other baby things too.  I failed on donating items because it snowed on the day of my donation pickup and I thought there was no way they would come but they did.  I felt really bad about not getting the stuff outside.
  10. Spend less – I bought my hubby 4 pairs of pants and got rid of 5.
